My school's theme this year was "Knock it Out of the Park". We had baseball looking t-shirts, every time a students passed a reading or math test they got their name on a baseball and it got taped down in the hallway, Math Camp was themed around baseball. You get the picture.
My principal got Round Rock Express (the Astros minor league baseball team in Round Rock) to donate 700 tickets to our school!!! The Dell Diamond is only about 3 mile from our school but over half our students had never been to a game. So on Monday after our school had just gotten our TAKS score and found we were going to be EXEMPLARY we headed to the baseball game.
It was awesome! We had about 550 students, parents, and teachers there. We all sat on the berm together and watched the game. The students had so much fun and getting to see them experience something completely new was amazing. Ryan was out of town so I had the girls and they loved meeting some of students.
When we where leaving we got to meet Spike the mascot and get his autograph. They girls thought that was cool.
