1st Day of School

I can't even believe that I am writing about the 1st day of school for my own baby!

Taylor showing off her new pirate backpack and lunch box. Yes, she is totally crazy about pirates. That is a whole blog in itself.

Amazingly the whole morning everyone was calm, cool, and collected. The whole family loaded up to take Kendall to school. We parked and walked her in. There was a ton of parents there so the classroom was pretty full. But she found her cubby unpacked her towel (for rest time), extra set of clothes, and her lunch and then found her seat. Mrs. McCauley has manips out on the tables for the children to play with, she sat down right away and started playing.

Taylor was very interested in everything and she got alittle upset when we left because she wanted to stay in kindergarten but Kendall was so sweet to her and gave her a big hug and kiss! This is the first time that the girls have been at different schools!

My big Kindergarten!

When we were ready to head out she said good bye, gave hugs and kisses to everyone and was really quiet but fine. Kendall has and still and probably always will surprise me! I never know what to expect from her but she did great! I am so proud of her!

On a side note, here is a picture from my first day of kindergarden!

1st School Project

On Thursday we went to Kinder Kamp up at Kendall's school. I didn't know what to expect as it was my first time going to this and OMGoodness this school is amazing and the parents are HIGHLY involved. We started in the auditorium with sighing up for the PTA. To say that the PTA is an major part of the school is an understatement. They hold 10 main events through out the school year on top of numerous other clubs and organizations that they help run. I felt overwhelmed with it all.

Next was on to her classroom where we got to put all her supplies up and see where her seat and cubby are. Mrs. McCauley had a whole list of things to do and papers to fill out before the parents all headed back to the auditorium for a little orientation. I was a little nervous about leaving Kendall in the classroom, as was she, but in the end she did great.

When I went back to pick her up she had her first homework assignment!!! It was a gingerbread cutout that she had to decorate to tell all about herself. Awesome I love projects. We took it home and showed Daddy and off to Michael's we (the whole family)went. Needless to say we spent over an hour in Michael's and a small chuck of change but walked out with some good stuff. Daddy and Kendall had all these wonderful ideas and totally took over the shopping and design process. I honestly felt a little left out but I loved seeing him and her have a great time doing this whole thing.

The final project!

Kendall told us that she and one other little girl got a gold star for having the best projects!!! Way to go Daddy!!!

Of course Taylor wanted to do the project also. So while Kendall and Daddy were busy working on hers, Taylor was making her own.

Taylor's finished project!

I'm not gone!

I promise I have not stopped blogging but my computer crashed last weekend and I have lost all my pictures on my hard drive. And no I didn't have them backed up :( On top of that my phone decided to die on me as well so I have been trying to deal with all of that on top of the beginning of the school year. As soon as I get some pictures I will do some serious updating!

Country Girls!

Saturday we headed to San Antonio to spend some time with my grandparents. They recently moved in their new house that they redid in Boerne (just outside of San Antonio). Jennifer, Joe, and Avery meet us out they for some good country fun!

The girls convinced Uncle Joe to take them on a ride on the tractor!

Once we made it down to the creek they did a little exploring finding tadpoles and frogs. Mommy forgot our rain boots so we had to go barefoot!

Don't worry it didn't slow us down.

While Nanaw was cooking us some out of this world home cooking Avery took us for a drive! Seriously I wish I lived down the street from her (or maybe not I am not sure my pants would fit if I did)!

After lunch and a change of clothes Uncle Joe taught Taylor to drive! I was nervous and had all the right to be. The girl (Taylor) has no fear. She drives fast and wants to go faster and drives towards things without slowing down.

But Uncle Joe was running behind me the whole time stopping me before I ran into a tree!
Thanks Uncle Joe!

Kendall was more interested in playing hostess by bringing everyone drinks than driving!

It sure was hot!

Later that afternoon we headed to the next set of grandparents house for a visit. Unfortunately I didn't snap any pictures while we were visiting Papa and Mama Edson but it was a nice visit.

For dinner we went with them to Charma Gaucha a Brazilian Steakhouse- it was the first time for me. OMGoodness I have never seen so much meat being walked around in all my life. You just flip a little card letting them know you are ready to eat and these men come at you in all different directions like piranhas trying to give you all kinds of meat. Ryan was in heaven and so was Taylor, she ate a ton of garlic steak! Now I am not a huge meat eater but the salad bar was fabulous.

It was a really nice to drive in just to see and visit my grandparents usually we are trying to a hundred other things as well.
