Wedding Bells!

A few days after Christmas we loaded up and drove to Dallas for Aunt Casey's and David's wedding.  The girls were flower girls and they were beyond excited about their big role.  I forgot my camera and my phone camera was acting up so I am hoping to get some better picture from someone else but in the mean time.

Poppy and the girls.

We had family pictures outside before the wedding and it was freezing!

During the ceremony Kendall got to hold Casey's bouquet and she took in every word that was said.  She just stared and soaked everything bit of it all in.  I think we will be in trouble when it is her turn.

Afterwards she gave the girls her bouquet to take home.

It was a beautiful ceremony.  Congratulations Casey and David, we pray for a blessed life for both of ya'll.

After the wedding the girls went back with Mimi and Poppy for the night.  Ryan and I had an unexpected free night but there was a football game to watch!  The Redskins were playing so we went back to our hotel and enjoyed a bottle of wine while watching the game.  The next morning we got up early to drive back for New's Year Eve.

Christmas Eve and Day

Christmas Eve morning the girls did some Christmas crafts while Mimi and I did a bit of cooking.

Then we made our traditional sugar cookies.  The girls are getting really good at rolling the dough, using the cookie cutters, and putting it on the cookie sheet by themselves.

Always the favorite part is the over decorating!  I mean decorating.  Each cookie gets special details and has lots of thought put into it.

Finished product!

Then we all got cleaned up for church.

While we were gone at church Suzie (our elf) left the girls a note and a present to open.

Christmas PJ's

The girls doing their thing

After setting milk and cookies out for Santa and reading The Night Before Christmas it was bed time.

The girls got up around 7 and ready to go.  Santa brought Kendall an American Girl scooter, a necklace, and a pair of white Converse.  Taylor got rollerblades, a helmet, and a "T" hairbrush from Justice.

Stocking were stuff with all kinds of goodies, gum, body spray, glass cases nail files, and hair goodies.  Santa put a thermometer and an ace bandage in her stocking!  She was super excited about those.

Taylor also got some new "glasses"

Into the present they went.  More American Girl stuff

Mimi and Poppy got them their second American Girl doll, McKenna for Kendall and Kaya for Taylor

Taylor couldn't wait to try out her new rollerblades.  She fell a few times at first

but keep trying.

Super happy

Marley was a good girl this year also and got a new bone

After presents and breakfast in true Kendall fashion she had to go put all new things away in their new spots.

Kendall in her new Justice sweatsuit from Taylor.

The girls played with all their new stuff and relaxed as Carol and I cooked away.

Right as we were fixing our plates to sit down for dinner we watched a section on our fence blow down.  It was super windy outside.   The street behind us sits about 8 feet below our yard so it had a big fall!

It was a very laid back Christmas with just the 6 of us but it was really nice.  We all have a lot to be thankful for and have a blessed year.

Christmas in Wimberly, San Antonio, & Boerne

Saturday morning we started our Christmas celebration with a whirlwind trip to see my side of the family.  Thankfully my Aunt Karen planned lunch/dinner at her house the weekend before Christmas so that helped to fit everyone in.

Kendall got her some Alison love.

Their property out there is really pretty so of course the family paparazzi (also known as my mom) had to take advantage.

My Family :)

The girls got a ride from Uncle Milt

This was the first time in a while that all the grand kids (6) and great grand kids (4) have been together so we snapped some pictures with Grandma.

This is what we really look like

Grams continued the annual gingerbread houses.  Kendall working hard on hers.

I am not sure they were a success.

We opened some gifts.

Kendall, Grandma, and Taylor

That evening we went to my Mom's house for the night.  In the morning we pretended it was Christmas.  Kendall opening her BIG gift.

I love her eyes when she figured out what it was.  It was her McKenna American Girl Doll bed!!!

Next up was a short drive to Boerne to have Christmas and visit with Nanaw and Popeye.  The girls love going out there.  They play outside for hours running around, catching bugs, and getting dirty.

After lunch we opened presents.

Popeye opening his "favorite present"  a picture calendar of the girls.

Kendall opening her "bag of gifts".  Literally

After cleaning up and visiting for a bit we hit the road.  Mimi and Poppy were driving to Austin to spend Christmas with us at our home.  Off we go!

Christmas Parties

The girls have both missed three days of school and still weren't feeling great but they both really wanted to go for their class parties.  They were in the morning so I let them go!

Taylor (you can tell she doesn't feel good)

Taylor and Miss K

Kendall's party was at the exact same time as my class party but thankfully her classroom is right across the hall!  So I just ran back and forth a few times but didn't catch many pictures.

The girls had a good time but were ready to head home after all the excitement so back to the couch we went!

After some rest we bundled up to go see Santa.  We hadn't get down to see him with them being sick and everything else going on so tonight was our last chance.

We only had to wait about 10 minutes which was great!

Both of them told Santa completely different things then what they had told us!!!!

Happy 8th Birthday Kendall!

Suzie, our elf, came and decorated for Kendall's birthday!

Unfortunately Kendall was sick on her birthday and couldn't go to school.  She was extremely upset since this was the first year that her actually birthday had fallen on a school day and Ryan was going to be a WATCH DOG.

I made one of her favorites, monkey bread, for breakfast and she only took one bite (a for sure sign the girl didn't feel good).

Opening some gifts

Mimi and Poppy got her a Baylor cheerleading outfit for Mary (her American Girl doll)

Ryan stayed home with both girls (they were both running high fevers) and took them to the doctor.  Kendall tested positive for the flu and strep and Taylor tested positive for the flu.

We still tried to make the best of the day.  So for dinner she requested Spaghetti Tacos and Cookie Cake.  She didn't eat much :(

Happy Birthday to my sweet 8 year old!
