We met at Baylor our freshman year but didn't become friends until right before our Junior year and have been together ever since. We got engaged in Jamaica in March 2001 and married in June 2002. We spent the first six years in The Woodlands and had both of our girls there, bought our first two homes, and made it home. Then we spent the next 9 months in Beaumont (we got out of there as fast as we could). In August of 2008 we moved to Austin and have made it home. Bought our fourth home (and hopefully our last for a long while) and have loved it since we got here.
I pray all the time for my girls for a lot of different things but one of the things I always pray is that they are friends and there for each other. This last year I have really seen them become friends, stick up for each, be there for each, and confide in each other. It really makes this moms heart happy.
I wasn't home one evening and these were the pics they sent
Now don't get me wrong they can fight, annoy, torment, and push each others
buttons like champions on the daily!
This week for FULL of tumbling, NCL meeting, volleyball practice, basketball games, 8th grade party planning meeting, eye doctor appointments, more tumbling and more volleyball practice and...
A sick girl :(
A quick trip to the doc for an ear infection and cold.
With a BIG dose of Snap, Insta, TikTok, Vlogging, Netflix binging and some antibiotics she was feeling better fast.
Saturday we ALL slept in and has a lazy morning, it was bliss!
Sunday the weather was beautiful so Taylor went out on the lake and surfed with some friends!
They are C R A Z Y, the water was only 57 degrees! She didn't even wear a wetsuit.
It is crazy how much she has grown up in 18 months
That evening we went to cheer Brayden on at his basketball game
Friday- Taylor and I headed to Houston for a volleyball tournament. On the way in we meet Leslie, Mallory, Morgan, and Case for dinner.
Love that these girls pick up right where they left off no matter how long it has been since they have seen each other. I also love that we get to see them more often even if it is for a quick dinner.
I love that the kids can just walk out, get their equipment on and ride themselves to ski/snowboarding lessons.
Taylor didn't enjoy snowboarding the first day, she did not want to go back. After some serious discussions and encouraging she went back on Friday.
Kendall and I got bundled up and hit the slopes
The fresh powder get the best of her!
Around lunch time we skied into the kids and their instructor so we hung around and did some runs with them.
It was so fun to watch them, they were all so encouraging to each other and having so much fun.
Snowboarding finally clicked with Taylor and she was making some major improvements and was doing awesome.
My girls
After some lunch and warming up we did some more runs.
That evening we did some shopping in the village.
That evening the kids wanted to go Woodland-The Barn. This place is incredible!
It has multiple skate/scooter/bmx zones, six different levels of foam pit jumps, indoor ParkSki™ and Burton ParkBoard™ training, spring floor, tumble track, five Olympic-grade flybed trampolines and one 12'x12' Super Trampoline. Basically, a kid wonderland!
After a couple hours there they were ready to come home.
One of my favorite things about ski vacations is that almost every night we (the moms) cook a big family dinner and sit around and eats, visits, laughs, and just enjoy each other. It is a fabulous time!
The crazies got in the hot tub and chilled
Saturday was our last full day and it was family ski day!!
Super excited to really ski with this one, she switch her board out for skis.
Me, Peyton, Jade, and Greg
We made a pit stop at Flyer's, one of the "restaurants" on the mountain. This one is tiny and open aired but have these AMAZING waffles. Seriously they literally melt in your mouth, they have syrup inside of them and they are divine!
Love this lady!
Kendall, me, Taylor, and Kash
We made our way to the top, we had never been all the way up there.
It was COLD and snowing!
Had to make sure and not make the wrong turn!
Me, Kendall, and Taylor at the top
Taylor and Gralyn
Pretty sure these next two picture sum up the weather...
We skied all the way home, which was freezing and snowing HARD the entire time!
It was a wonderful day, family ski days are always tons of fun.
We had to get all our equipment out on the front porch for pick up.
That is ALOT of stuff!
Sunday we got up early, packed up and headed to the airport.
I love our mountain trips and all the memories we make there.
