Memorial Day Fun

Sunday we headed to San Antonio but not to see family instead to spend some time at the JW Marriott.  I have only been there once with a group of girls and it was off season so I was super excited to get to enjoy all of the property.  There were about 20 other families from our neighborhood going as well so I knew the girls and Ryan and I would have a great time.

It was overcast on Sunday but that didn't bother the kids one bit.

Love their faces

There were so many of the girls friends from school and the neighborhood that they would just take off and go play and come back to check in very once and awhile.  It was very strange at first since that has never happened but I felt safe since there are lifeguards every five feet and they are pretty good swimmers.  They loved having the freedom and it was nice to sit and relax with my girlfriends and Ryan.

Taylor has a group of 6 girls in her class this year that have become very close and including her 5 of them were there!

That evening they had s'more at the fire pit.

We decided that the lawn setting was best for dinner so that they kids come run and play instead of sitting in a restaurant.  It was really nice, there were two trailers serving food, a live band, a bunch of picnic tables, and of course a bar set up in the middle of a HUGE field that the kids got to play on.

The girls were exhausted after a long in the sun playing.

Some how Taylor ended up on the pull out all by herself.

Ryan went downstairs in the morning and got everyone Starbucks and I look over and see this..

Does she look comfortable or what?

We spent a good part of Monday hanging out and playing in water before heading home.  It was a great little vacation for all, we will definitely be going back.

Recital Time

The girls had their dance recital this weekend!  They have been taking jazz and tap all year and tonight was the big show.  This years theme was "Get Your Kicks on Route 66".

All dressed and ready to go....

Their tap routine was to Grease Lightening, SUPER CUTE!

1st Grade Showoff

Taylor had her 1st Grade Showoff last week.  They did a musical theatre called "Hats".  It was full of super cute songs.  I forgot my camera at home so I only I had my phone which doesn't take the best pictures from afar.

The whole 1st grade

Taylor is in the back row on the right 7 kids in.

After the musical parents were invited back to the classroom so the students could "showoff" all their work from the year.

Taylor Swift

For Christmas we gave the girls tickets to the Taylor Swift concert but months later it was in the back of their minds.  Well last night was the night!  Ryan wanted to surprise them a little so we just told them we wanted to take them to dinner and then we had to stop by someplace real fast.  I had picked up a few new outfits for them (and since that is not abnormal they didn't think much of it) and let them choose which one they wanted to wear.  Surprisingly they picked matching outfits just different colors.

They picked sushi for dinner. YUM

Kendall and I at dinner.

As we were walking up with the crowds they noticed a few people wearing Taylor shirts, carrying signs, and/or the number 13 (her lucky number) written on their hands.  We just played along and when we were almost there Kendall looks at Ryan and I and says with a huge smile "I think I know where we are going".  It was so cute.  When Taylor finally picked up on it she had a perma grin on her face and couldn't get inside fast enough to check it all out.

Right before we walked in

Taylor and Taylor

Florida Georgia line was the first to open up which Ryan and I were excited about.  Then we went and stood in the never ending line to get shirts (so much for the new outfits), posters, and bracelets.   Then we picked up snow cones, cotton candy, and drinks and finally made it back to our seats.  Ed Sheeran was next and he was really impressive to watch.

Waiting for Taylor Swift.....

Finally!  She puts on a really good shows packed full with numerous outfit changes, set changes, and moving parts.

Kendall loved all the lights across the way

It was an awesome evening filled with singing, dancing, and screaming!  The girls wore their new shirts to school the next day along with half the other girls in school.

Flying By

May is going every quickly and I am not doing a good job capturing all of our memories but here are a few.

Sunday we drove to Wimberly to Aunt Karen and Uncle Milt's house to see my mom, John, and Grandma.  I also got to give her her Mother's Day gift.

The girls got to take a ride with Aunt Karen on the mule.

One night when Ryan was out of town I got to have dinner with this good looking group of perfectly mannered children, NOT!  Just kidding, we love hanging out with The McLaughlin's.

Reese, Taylor, Kendall, Connor, and Landon

***************

Mother's Day we went to church and then had brunch sitting outside at the steakhouse.  It was yummy as always.  I got a new Kendra Scott bracelet, pretty :)

***************

Ti spent the night with us and we went to Starbuck (their choice) for breakfast.  I am afraid that I am raising some hot chocolate and oatmeal snobs :(

***************

Some of my girlfriends had been talking about this juice cleanse that they did and how great it was so the next week they asked if I wanted to do it.  I have always wanted to do one and since this was a one day cleanse I thought it was a good intro.  Let's just say that I am not sure that I will EVER be doing one again.

This was my first one of the day.  It was not easy going down, the taste and smell were alittle much for me.

It was six juiced total and then they recommend that you drink 32 oz of water between juices.  That was the easy part.  I didn't care for any of the juices (they were all different).  If fact I didn't even drink the last one, I just couldn't do it.  But I didn't cheat!  I also didn't get as hungry as I expected.  It was a good experience just not sure juice cleanse are for me.

This is just what I drink while I was at school!  I stilled had three more juices and more water to drink after school!

***************

One day after school the girls and I met Carly for some shopping and catching up.  The girls love A!

Isn't he a cutie?

A bunch of girls got together to help Kristin celebrate her birthday.

Happy Birthday Kristin.

Field Day Fun x 2!

Ryan signed up to be a Watch Dog on Field Day only to find out later that 1st grade field day was on Wednesday and 2nd grade field day was Thursday so like any great Dad would do he was a Watch Dog two days in row!

On 1st Grade Field Day I didn't get to watch at all since 3rd grade was on its field trip but Ryan took lots of pictures for me.  In true Austin weather (NOT) it rained on field day (3rd year in a row) so it was moved inside.

All the girls in Taylor's class had matching shirts made for field day, they looked so cute.

Enjoying some Kona Ice with Miss K

Got an airbrush tattoo

Taylor knocking out Miss K in the box arena

And of course the beloved hamster ball (Apparently she did it like 10 times)

Thursday was 2nd and 3rd grade field day and Kendall whole class had shirts made for them as well.

Kendall got to participate in tug of rug for her class.

The won the first round and lost in the second :(

Playing on the slide

Playing in the balloon relay race

Even though it was inside it was still lots of fun and nice to have Daddy there to help out and watch.
