Spring Break- Part 2

Thursday we headed up I-35 to Dallas with a car full of friends and another one following. We were invited to birthday party for one of the girls friends at the American Girl Store so of course we HAD to go. I actually was excited as well, I had never been there.

Some of the friends when we first got there.

The store is huge and alittle overwhelming when you first get there so we (as in Mom's) decided that we would just walk around and look while we waited for our reservation at the bistro and then shop after. Which turned out to a great idea so they could take it all in.

Birthday lunch time!

All the dolls got their own special seat, birthday hat to wear, and tea cup and saucer

After shopping we went back to the hotel and thankfully the hotel had a massive courtyard with koi ponds that they kids could run around and release some energy before heading up to the room.

Miss T (birthday girl), Miss A, and Kendall

We ordered pizza, got pj's on and after about an hour of all 10 kids in one room deciding on where they were going to sleep we started a movie for them while the Mommies enjoyed adult conversation and some wine in the connecting room. Yes all 10 kids actually went to sleep and slept all night in the same room (I'm not sure I would do it again but the girls had a blast).

Massive Slumber Party!!

The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel and let the kids swim at the indoor pool for a few hours before loading up to head home.

Now with new long wish list for their dolls they can't wait to go back.

It was a super fun trip for the girls and I.

Spring Break- Part 1

After coming back from Vegas on (very tired) Monday we meet Aunt Jennifer, Avery, and baby Alison at the outlets for alittle shopping and baby love! Tuesday the girls did a total re do of their closets, taking out winter, going through spring/summer from last year, trying on, reorganizing. It was a massive disaster before it got better but the end result is fabulous.

Wednesday we were ready for some fun so the girls and I headed to the Austin Rodeo Fairgrounds.

We walked through the barns checking out all the animals, caught some of a horse show, and checked out the vendors and picked up some cowgirl hat for a whopping $3!

We're ready now!

We watched some pig races, those little suckers are fast!

I tired to get a picture of the three of us but I was not real good at it.

Visited the petting zoo with some very aggressive sheep and deer,

and some super sweet baby goats

got a pony ride,

watched a puppet show,

learned all about milking cows,

and then headed out for some rides.

And more rides

some fun ones,

some relaxing ones,

some really scary fast ones (they are fearless!).

The girls just keep running from one ride to the next and wanted to go on some super crazy ones (I was really happy that they were too short to go on them).

We had a great time exploring and riding!

Las Vegas

Ryan and I went to Vegas for the weekend on "business". The other two couples that joined us have become friends and not just people that do business with Ryan, so I was excited!

I for some really strange reason only took one picture the entire time we were there.

I love it!

Ryan had a few that I stole from his phone but not one picture of the two of us :(

This was on Saturday at the Sports Book. We spent a good amount of time there watching basketball and of course Baylor!

This was our little section that we made ourselves at home in!
It was the coolest sports bar/book that I have been to.

The ladies- Lacey, me, and Celise

It was an amazingly fun trip with more laughs than I have ever laughed in 48 hours. I came home with some great stories and alittle shopping money (thanks honey)!

Yee Haw

It's Rattler Rodeo!!

Friday was kinder Rattler Rodeo at school so here is my sassy little cowgirl

Part of her homework was to make a "wanted" poster. She decided that she wanted to be "wanted" for stealing pink horses and the reward was "pieces of candy".

Ryan and I were headed to Las Vegas for the weekend and I was super sad to miss all the activities at school but never fail Grams came in early to capture it for me.

Every time the school/grade level puts on an event they pull out all the stops to make sure the kids have a great experience. I love their school!

Having horse races!

Posing- not sure what happened to her hat, shirt, or ponytail

"Roping steer"

Branding Cattle

They did a bunch of other activities and ended it with a campfire complete with popcorn and water.

Thanks Grams for coming in early and making the day special for cowgirl!

Research

Thursday I headed up to the girls school to watch Kendall give her research presentation!

Yes in first grade they do a real research project and she choose horses (no surprise). It even had a work cited page that she could tell me about. She did a great job presenting and telling me about all the different topics that she learned/researched.

I am so proud of you!

Sunday Fun Day!

Sunday we meet The Huston's at Hula Hut for lunch and then headed to Zilker Park for the Kite Festival! We had never been so when they invited us we jumped on board. Little did we know that it was so BIG. The traffic going every which way that lead to the park was crazy. We ended up parking a mile away and just walking with all the other hundreds of people. Yes I said hundreds and I mean hundreds! I never realized how huge this was.

We stopped at Target and let the girls pick out a kite on the way and it was a perfect day for flying a kite.

Ryan tried, I tried,

Kendall tried, and

Taylor tried. We all gave it a good long try to get the girls kites up but we didn't have much luck. Ryan said they were to small and I am pretty sure he was right.

Luckily The Huston's had a much bigger one and everyone got a chance (if they wanted) to fly it. It went REALLY high! Taylor was the only one (other than Ryan and Peter who were super competitive about it) that got really into it. She loved to hold it and make it go higher and just watch it float around.

It was amazing to see all the kites flying around. There were pirate ships, octopuses, fairies, dragons, frogs, you name it there was one.

The kids played frisbee and ran around in true Austin style- barefoot!

It was beautiful day to spend outside with good friends!

Run the Ranch

Saturday was Run the Ranch, it is a Kids K and a 5K run. I did it two years ago and somehow skipped it last year. I asked the girls if they wanted to do it and they did. We picked up our packets on Friday evening and had fun going through all the flyers and freebies. They were excited to get a race number to wear!

Kendall and Miss A taking off. Taylor ran with another friend.

Obviously a Kids K (.6 of a mile) only takes a few minutes but they had a fun!

Miss A, Kendall, Taylor, and Mr D with their metals (and donuts- it was hard work)!

Next up was the 5K, I honestly haven't been running at all in the last 6 weeks for one reason or another but wasn't to worried about it, it is only 3.1 miles.

My running buddy, Stefanie and me

They had a jump house, face painting, food, and some games to play after the race. The kids had a blast running around with their friends playing. I was super excited for the girls to run and be involved.
