March Catch Up Post

So I slacked big time in March with blogging so here is a catch up post!

Carly and I did a little shopping at this neat store that has "Hamlet" the pig that just wonders around.

They had this cool swing in the middle.  We had just had pedi's so I am holding my shoes.

Cool pic of Taylor

We meet the Huston's for dinner one night at this cool new restaurant called Reunion Grill.  It has a huge porch/outdoor seating area with two playscapes for the kids and a big area to run around in.  They have live music also (just not when we were there).

We met John and Mom one Sunday in Gruene for lunch at The Gristmill.

I found this paper in Taylor's notebook one day.  They do timed addition and subtraction tests at school and apparently she wrote her teacher a note before turning it in "I don't like -" and her awesome teacher wrote her back "Well you're good at it!".  Seriously kid!

Mimi and Poppy came in for the weekend to visit.

She helped the girls plant their annual flowers.

They turned out so pretty, now to keep them alive!

We have enjoyed the new fro-yo shop in the neighborhood, Menchie's!

Ryan was out of town one night and I found this when I went to get in bed.

Spring Break Recap

We didn't have any real big plans for Spring Break this year but it was still busy and lots of fun.

Monday we met Carly at the Domain for some shopping and lunch.  Then we headed to the outlets to meet Aunt Jennifer, Avery, and Alison for some more shopping.  These girls are growing like weeds none of their spring/summer clothes fit from last year.

It got to be dinner time and I didn't want to drive in traffic so we had dinner at Centerpoint Station.  They have such a cute store attached and as an added bonus Aunt Karen got to come and join us.

Tuesday the girls went to gymnastic camp and I cleaned out closets and drawers all day!

Wednesday we headed to San Antonio to play with Grams.  She still can't drive with her broken foot so we ran some errands with her.  After dinner John treated all of us to some Baskin Robbins!

The next day we went to spend the night with Nanaw and Popeye.  Popeye took the girls on a ride into town in his 1945? Model A to Dairy Queen.

Of course we had a great dinner and some yummy chocolate chip cookies while we were there.  The girls ran and played and had a great time.

The next morning we loaded up and headed home just in time for The Madison's to come and visit for the weekend.

As always we have some dress up parades.

This boy loves him a pink dress!

We got a sitter (actually two) so the adults could go have a night out.  Suede was playing at the Sunset Lounge so after a good and LONG dinner we went upstairs to enjoy.

Leslie and I

Kristin and Jay joined us for some fun.

 Lonnie and Ryan

We had a blast dancing and singing the night away!

The next morning we laid around and let the kids play before we headed to Ti's (Kendall and Taylor friend) birthday party.

They had a "unicorn" and a bounce house for the kids to play on.

That evening we cooked and chilled.  The next day was St. Patrick's day so everyone had their green on before heading out.  We had a great time visiting with the Madison as always.  Can't wait till June when the adults go to Cabo!

Basketball Season

Taylor played basketball this season.  We signed up with some of her friends through the YMCA and were on team "Lady Dolphins".

The Lady Dolphins

At this age it is all about learning the skills and the rules of the game.  The first game was rough.  None of the girls had ever played, I thought it was going to be a LONG season.

But every game got better and better.  By the end of the season they girls knew how to play and what to do after they or the other team made a basket.  It was really cool to watch the progression over 8 games.

Taylor worked hard on her dibbling,

She had lots of fun,

played some mean defense but never made a basket during any of the games.

Good sportsmanship

After the last game we had a little celebration

and got a trophy!

Good Job Taylor!

Old School

My Mom sent me home with a box full of old high school stuff about six months ago and it has just been sitting in my closet.  Finally, the other night after baths I told the girls to come in my room and we went through it.  They thought it was hilarious to see all my old cheer outfits and asked a million questions.   I have no idea why but my Mom had kept bows, socks, bloomers (the funniest), shirts, and outfits from cheer leading so we had a little fun playing around with them.

As soon as they put one on they were asking me to take their pictures and put them on Facebook!

Taylor (the girl has no balance)

Kendall (super flexible)

My skirt almost fits her!

My favorite!

We played around in them for almost an hour, they want them for dress up but I am not ready to let go just yet (I have no idea why).
