Carnival Cruise

I was so fortunate that I was invited to join my bestie Carly on a cruise to Cozumel. I was super excited about the trip. I had never been on a cruise before and I had never been to Mexico (unless you count going across the border to do a little shopping) which is on my bucket list.

Our ship- Ecstasy

We did a bunch of lounging around,

reading books and magazines, drinking some tasty adult beverages,

riding down an awesome slide,

talking,

and eating some yummy food.

When we got to Cozumel the group we were with had plans to go to a zip line, ropes course, and rock climbing excursion. Right up my alley of fun! I was pumped.

Me zip-lining!!

The afternoon was awesome. The course was so much fun and a bit challenging at times.

After doing the rope course and zip-lining they gave us the option of rock climbing. We could choose between a 24 foot, 36 foot, and 60 foot climb.

Carly and I choose the 60 foot! It was hard but amazing. We made it all the way to top. I was tired after that and ready for some good Mexican food.

Carly on her way up!

After all that hard work, we ate some great food, and did a little swimming in the beautiful and refreshing water.

Then we ended the day with a little shopping in the market and some tasty beverages at Fat Tuesday before boarding back on the ship.

It was a tall drink!!

The water there was gorgeous!

The whole trip was just what the doctor ordered- a nice, relaxing couple of days! Thanks Carly for taking me, and Ryan and Mom for taking care of the girls so I could go.

Sweet Berry Farms

We took our annual trip to the pumpkin farm. We had the pleasure of meeting Aunt Jennifer, Uncle Joe, Avery, Grams, and Nanaw and Popeye (my grandparents) there.

The Three Amigos walking in!

There were plenty of great places for photo opps.

Kendall

Taylor

Avery

So the girls were tired of taking pictures so we head off to ride some horses. Kendall got to ride on Miss Kitty! She was super brave this year and rode all by herself.

Feed some goats (except Taylor she was scared of them).

Rode the barrel train ride

Check out the cute haystacks!

Walk through the maze till we found the bell (for a kids maze it was huge)

The great grandkids with Nanaw

Before we called it a day we picked out some pumpkins to take home. On a funny note, Taylor picked out the biggest pumpkin she could pick up (and she is strong) and Kendall picked out a small white one because it was perfect. She couldn't find an orange one that wasn't dirty or didn't have any stratches on it so she went to the white ones because she could wash it and make it clean.

It was a wonderful day full of fun and family. Glad that so much of our family could join us.

Fall Festival

On Friday, Kendall's school was having their Fall Festival so after soccer practice the girls and I made our way over there.

There was line of bounce houses, games to play, tons of different kinds of food, hayrides, and so much more to do.

We met up with one of Kendall's good friends S and her family.

Kendall, S, C, and Taylor waiting in line for the obstacle course!

Enjoying some Kona Ice and freshly popped Kettle Corn!!

Trying to keep an eye on the girls with all the people I didn't get a bunch of pictures.

But the girls made some ghost cupcakes for the cakewalk!

We all had a good time and it was a great turn out for the school.

October 13,2010

We have had a loose tooth epidemic going on in our house the last couple of weeks.

Kendall has lost three teeth recently!!!

I call her my own personal Jack-o-lantern.

Let's hope she doesn't loose anymore or she's not going to be able to eat anything!

Busy Weekend

This Saturday was my turn to bring snacks to Taylor's game. She had asked me to make soccer ball cookies. So I said sure. Well, after doing a little online research and looking at her soccer ball I realized that I might be a little out of my baking league with this one. Seriously I don't think mine would turn out like these.

So, I knew I better have a good alternative when I tell her. So I did a little thinking and this is what we came up with.

Oreo Spiders!
I know they are upside down- just turn your head :)

It is close to Halloween and her game was at eight o'clock in the morning and I am sure all the mom's would not have been a big fan if I gave them all a bag of soccer ball cookies that early in the morning. So instead we made Oreo spiders! The girls did the whole thing by themselves after I showed them how to do one. So then we put a hand full of pretzels in a snack bag and put one spider on top. It was a hit.

Ryan's parents came in on Friday evening to spend the weekend with us. Almost as soon as they got to our house Ryan, Taylor, and Poppy headed out for soccer practice. She was super excited about that! She loves her Poppy :)

Poppy and Daddy watching the game

And speaking of hits- Taylor was a super star at her soccer game Saturday morning! She scored 5 goals!!! I know I am bragging but she is mine and we were so proud of her that I can't help it.

That is the back of Taylor kicking the ball

Mimi and Kendall watching the game (notice the baby in tow)

After the game, we got cleaned up and made our way to our good friend Mia's 5th birthday party. It was at a jump place, which always leads to a great nap later in the afternoon.

Happy Birthday Mia!!

Then we headed home to enjoy the last part of our weekend. Ryan grilled some yummy ribs for everyone, we watched some (or lots of ) football, visited with Mimi and Poppy, and played outside in the great weather. It was a busy but fun weekend!
