Disney World Day 1

Last week we headed to Disney World in Orlando, Florida with Ryan's parents and sister, Casey for the week. The girls have been super excited about the trip and getting to go on an airplane. I made them calendars with pictures of upcoming events to help with count down until go we go and have been earning Disney Dollars to spend while we were there. They were amazing on the the two and half hour flight there but once we got to the hotel they could not wait to go!

Since it was already the afternoon we headed to Animal Kingdom. First of all going to the park is an adventure on its own. You have to take the shuttle to the transportation area and then get on a monorail to the park. After a good 40 minutes we finally got to the park!

Carol and I had done lots of research and figured out exactly what we wanted to do and see see while we were there. Our first stop was Kilomanjaro Safari. On the way there we stopped and took in the many different animal exhibits.

To go on this you get on an open sided safari bus with a guide.

This was amazing to see all the animals in what looks like Africa. They have done an incredible job recreating their natural terrain and all the animals are just roaming around freely.

Some of the animals we got to see were antelopes, black rhinos, cheetahs, crocodiles, gazelles, giraffes, hippos, lions, warthogs, wildebeest, and okapis.

The girls loved watching the elephants and the baby elephant

On the way out of the park we caught Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade which is full of singing and dancing. This was the girls first character sighting and they were super exciting to see them in person.

It was late that evening before we got to eat so we grabbed a bite to eat at Benihana's in the hotel. This was awesome because the girls were tired and hungry but got entertained while their food was getting prepared.
