Phoeniz Day 3, Road Trip

Tuesday we loaded up in Aunt Amy's car and took a 2 hour drive to Sedona.  The drive there  is beautiful!

Our first stop was Chapel of the Holy Cross.

It is amazing up there.

The three of us

The kids- Gavin, Haley, Taylor, Kendall, and Elijah

Next stop was a helicopter tour!  I was super excited as I have never been in one!

Haley, Elijah, and Gavin went up first.

No doors :(

As they were getting off and Amy, the girls, and I were getting in we snapped a group picture.

Taylor got to sit in the front next to the pilot, BRAVE GIRL!

Amy, Kendall, and I sit in the back with

I gave Taylor my camera to take pictures on the ride and I snapped some with my phone.

While up there the pilot was extremely knowledgeable about all the formations and pointed them out and gave us some history of the land.

We saw Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, Courthouse Butte, The Chapel of The Holy Cross, Snoppy Rock and Bear Wallow Canyon.

After the ride I was looking through the pictures that Taylor took and I think this is the coolest picture ever.  The bottom of the helicopter was see through!

The whole experience was amazing to see all the land

We were up in the air for almost 35 minutes.

We fly by 2000 feet of red rock walls, the Secret Mountain, Mogollon Rim, ancient Sinagua Indian ruin cliff dwelling (super cool), and flew over the Colorado Plateau (where the temperature immediately dropped).

This was a high school that we flew over that had tons of solar panels next to it, the pilot said that 80% of its electricity comes from the panels.

Safely back on the ground!

Next stop was McDonald's but not to eat, this McDonald's is the only one in the world without golden arches!  They are turquoise to better blend with the surroundings.

Then we headed in town to do some shopping.

Stopped at the candy store for some Rabbit Tails.

One of the stores was selling these, I took a picture and sent to my sister.  Totally wore these back in the day.

The Garden store we stopped in had a bunch of nodding donkeys (think bobble heads but donkeys) and Taylor LOVED them.  She walked around and gathered them up and even called Ryan and asked if she could bring them home with her.  Goof!

Flying Pigs?

After an amazing day they capped it off with more swimming.
