Exploring down I-35

I have driven down I-35 a million times and always see "The Snake Farm".  I had heard that it a cover for a not so nice place but then it started popping up on Groupon and I would see pictures from other people so finally Jennifer and I decided to meet there and check it out.

But first we had to do some shopping at the outlets.

Then we met Aunt Karen and Alysha for lunch.

Then we back tracked a few miles to Aquarena Springs.  Another item on the summer bucket list that I have been wanting to take the girls to,  my mom swears that I have been here but I have no memories of it.

Waiting for our boat

Cousins

It is amazing what all you can see

Lots of turtles and cool fish

It was hot in that boat with no air circulating

Final stop THE SNAKE FARM!

Two Boa constrictors- they are huge!

There was every different size, shape, and color of snake that you can think of, gross!

Outside it a mixture of exotic animals.

The Longhorn has the biggest thickest longhorns ever!

I so wanted to take home of these little guys, so cute!

The guy followed me around the entire petting zoo the whole time!

We are not friends!

When we were leaving one of the workers was in the cage with some alligators so Taylor got to feel his tail, no thank you.

After a fun day we headed to Grams house for the night.  John brought over stuff to make Root Beer floats.

The next morning we got all the girls dressed and headed to have their picture taken for Grams.

Getting Alison to sit and smile is no small task.  I may have made a complete fool out of myself trying to get her to smile but it was worth it.  We got one picture that overall is good of everyone.

After all the commotion we grabbed some lunch.

Grams and all her grand girls

Tay and I- love this girl

Then we went to visit Nanaw and Popeye.  Some of my favorite memories are cooking with Nanaw.  She is incredible in the kitchen.  She whips up dinner every night from scratch in no time flat, she makes a monstrous mess while doing it but always taste fabulous.

She found a 5 minute pickle recipe that she wanted to try with the girls.

The finished product, they actually tasted really good and were super easy to make.

Next cooking project was cutting up vegetables for stir fly.  This part made me real nervous but the girls did great cutting up all the different veggies.

Nanaw and Kendall chatting in up

After dinner they made chocolate chip cookies from scratch, my favorite!

They have lots of deer on their property and one was really brave coming super close to the house.

I am so glad that the girls get to have a relationship with my grandparents, they have been such a huge part of my life and are amazing people.
